Starting Over

It has now been over a year since i last wrote on my blog. I keep telling myself to get back into it, but everytime I come up with another "great excuse" as to why I can't sit down and write. Well tonight I am making up my mind to start fresh and do this right. If nothing else, then for my baby girl to be able to one day come back and read about her early years and her mom and dad's adventures. :) It's hard to believe that Faith is about to be 9 months on June 7th and on that same day, Davy and I will have been married 3 years. What a journey it has been!!!
Faith is now crawling all over the place. She is the sweetest and happiest little girl I have ever seen. She is our entire world. I don't know what life was like before her. Her favorite word is "da-da" and she uses it to describe EVERYTHING including her daddy, which makes him swell with pride every time she calls him that. :) Her first tooth just broke through the surface yesterday and she has started clapping her hands. It is so much fun to see all the different firsts she is reaching in her life. It seems like everything is happening so fast. Everytime I blink, something new is occuring. WOW!!!
Everyone tells me how lucky I am and I say I'm blessed. I have such an easy and happy baby. She is such a pleasure to have and everyone loves her. She has a smile on her face almost all the time. About the ONLY time she cries is when she is hungry or sleepy. And she has slept through the night since she was a little over 2 months old. I am just a BIT spoiled, but hey I'm not complaining. :) I have so much to tell about our toodlebug but I am going to spread it out so that I will want to come and blog and have something to tell. I think I am going to set myself an alarm every evening to make time for this, we shall see. :)

Tired

Wow it's been a very trying and tiring last week or so. My mom went in to the hospital for what was supposed to be a very minor surgery on 3/17/2010. Everything came out great and the surgery did what it was supposed to do, bring down her calcium. They sent her home the next morning and she went into some anesthetic induce sleep because it was not all out of her system. By Friday she was incoherent and severely dehydrated. We took her back to the hospital in Houston and the admitted her. She was hydrated and doing much better. They released her Tuesday. Now mind you, she had started throwing up Monday and continued through Tuesday not being able to keep anything down. But the doctor seemed to think prevacid would help....yeah RIGHT. Wednesday morning my father called after talking with mom's kidney doctor and said they were headed BACK to Houston once again. We are now in Methodist hospital and honestly have no idea WHAT is wrong with her. But we are still believing God can heal her completely and return her strength to her. As of now she is still in lots of pain and throwing up. When it rains in our family it FLOODS!!!!

DOCTOR

Well I went for my 2nd doctor's visit today!!! I acutally changed back to my original doctor who I love dearly since she got her practice up and running a whole month earlier and it was such a relief to see her and her wonderful nurse Sarah. I can breath much easier now that I'm back with the dynamic duo. :) I have actually lost quite a bit of weight since my first visit, oops but it's from me not being able to eat anything without it making me sick. Hopefully that's about over since this has been a much better week. I'm now 13 weeks and 2 days WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!

After going over the basics with my doctor, we went in to the room for her to do an ultrasound!!! I almost started crying when she turned on the screen. Our little peanut was all over the place!!!!!!!! WOW I have one active little one inside me. :) It moved it's arms and kicked it's feet and rolled from side to side the whole time. It was simply amazing to watch. I was so excited to see peanut awake and alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I simply can't wait to go back in 4 weeks and see the next pic. I'm in love already!!!

Shopping!!!!

Well I bought my first baby outfit yesterday. I couldn't control myself. I was at the outlet mall at San Marcos and Carter's was just there, opportunity presented itself. I bought something gender neutral so I can justify. :) I bought a rubber ducky sac which is my FAVORITE type of baby clothes.

Other things that I have bought so far:

Almost a month ago now, I played hooky from work one Friday and my mom and I went baby "looking". :) We decided to go to different baby shops and just check out what was out there. At one particular baby store in Beaumont, I found my dream baby bedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once again, it was gender neutral. The decision was made right then, our baby room is going to be done in SOCK MONKEYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's right, you know I have always been unique in everything I do, so why not in my bedding also. We are going to accent in old, nostalgic toys because A) that fits the rest of our decor and B) all the sock monkeys are playing with old time toys.

Since then my wonderful mom and diddy have bought me a sock monkey painting for the wall and a sock monkey. I can't wait to buy other things.

First Doctor Visit

On February 8, 2010 Davy and I went to our first Dr.'s visit. Up until now we only had home prego tests and symptoms to go by to know that we were pregnant. And of course I had all the usual worries, what if all 4 tests were wrong? What if I'm imagining the symptoms? What is the doctor going to tell me?

I actually took this whole day off in order to prepare myself for the afternoon. Davy went with me of course. I got to meet the doctor and talk and review information first, all the fun stuff. lol She asked questions, I asked questions.....we covered all the bases. Finally the time came to do the initial exam and the first ultrasound. After the exam, the nurse went to get Davy so he could come in for the ultrasound. The time had come, we were finally going to see proof!!!!!!!!!!! There it was on the screen, our BABY!!!! It was true, I am PREGNANT. I see it right there on the screen!!!! lol

Davy was so excited when he saw the baby. It suddenly became concrete and real to him. He was going to be a daddy. When the doctor pointed out the heartbeat, Davy could immediately see it. It was like a little blinking light on the screen. He kept pointing to it and saying, "Look I see it."

The doctor printed out a copy of a picture and we walked out very happy parents to be. :) This is just the beginning to a very fun and somewhat nerve racking journey ahead of us!!! Full steam ahead.
